How We Check the Research

Official Sources, Clear Limits

  • Start with official records. We use government risk maps, registers and rules. The principal natural-risk sources are listed by country below.
  • Check the individual property. Town-level maps point you to the right questions; a survey and local advice cover the building itself.
  • Keep dates visible. Prices, routes, taxes, visa rules and incentive programs change, so every Atlas carries its review date. Confirm current details with the relevant provider or authority.
  • Review before release. Each edition must pass two consecutive rounds of fact, structure, typography and page-by-page visual checks before replacing the previous edition.

What the Town Order Means

The order is our editorial comparison, made to help you choose well.

  • Honest by design: some towns come with real drawbacks. We include them because seeing the trade-offs helps you compare.
  • Your decision: the ranking compares places, and the choice of home stays yours.
